Instructions/ Information
The following experience requires headphones, please do not attempt without them. Some can be borrowed from Salford Museum and Art Gallery where you started this tour.
This tour utilises binaural audio. Binaural audio is a recording and playback technique that creates a three-dimensional listening experience, replicating how humans naturally perceive sound through two ears. By simulating differences in sound timing, volume and frequency between the ears, it can reproduce the perception of sounds coming from specific directions and distances. When listened to through headphones, binaural audio can create an immersive sense of spatial presence, making sounds appear to originate from around, above or behind the listener.
It also utilises something called playful learning., Playful learning is an approach to education that uses play, exploration and interactive experiences to encourage learning and engagement. It allows participants to actively construct knowledge through activities such as experimentation, problem-solving, storytelling and games, rather than relying solely on passive information delivery. In the following experience you will be asked questions which require your new knowledge and exploration of the park to answer.
